Where There's Smoke, There's Cain & Old State Blues

I've become quite cynical. So much so that when I see smoke (and as the old addage goes) I am starting to like the fire. Herman Cain is the fire.

It's not difficult to take notice that the media is biased and that whatever the conservatives do, is wrong, and whatever the liberals do is correct. Rush Limbaugh could save a burning building full of orphans while James Carvalle pours gasoline on the roof and Rush would be crucified because he may have carried a young girl out of the building incorrectly or in a manner that wasn't "appropriate". Of course the girl, secretly thankful to be alive would come forth and say that he carried her out of the smoldering building in a way that made her feel "uncomfortable" because she was promised a million dollar book deal. At this time, Carvalle is putting puppies into a blender. Rush ends up in jail and Carvalle is an American hero as he urinates on Arlington Cemetery.

I like Herman Cain for his ideals. I like him even more since his opposition is attacking him and accusing him of different "wrongs". But I've learned that the opposition (this includes the DNC and the two leading RINO's in the presidential race) makes more noise when they are scared. They are scared. I like Herman Cain.

And where is the NAACP? They defended Jesse Jackson for similar accusations.

Sad Day for Old State

Tired of hearing about Penn State? I'm sure it's not going to go away any time soon. In my opinion, what happened was horrible and disgusting. However, I think Joe Paterno should have been allowed to finish this season. With only three games to go, I think 40+ years has earned him that. Again, the media wins. He was set to retire after this season. That wasn't good enough for the suddenly all-holy media. The same media that is in bed with organizations like NAMBLA (North American Man Boy Love Association) who is recently trying to pass laws to make child sex legal in the United States. And they are doing it by citing legalized gay marriage. "It's a sexual preference". That is what they claim.

Joe Paterno is a registered Republican and has publicly supported many GOP candidates in the past. That's where he went wrong. Should have been a Democrat - he'd be a hero.

The tale of protests

A new dawning has come of age. The Occupy Wall Street has become a world wide spectacle.Not sure what they are protesting. Most of their appearance, are from the Woodstock era. A lot of roaming around, with nothing else to do.. The poll says that 99% agree with the OWSers. If that is true, why would their be any operation, work motivated, business as usual,be going on?

What they intend to accomplish, are more entitlements, that corporations pay more taxes,(if they have not already pay more of their share) that redistribution must be intact, (can you say socialism again). Maybe their are some concern for anger, that the poor is being shafted for unknown reason, but the logical sense would be too move from the stale condition and decisions that many have made in the personal way. You can't have mobile ability, by staying poor or even the mindset to take from others, in order to feel good about things.

We look around us and see plausible common goods, for many to live by. Automobiles, made by corporations, that has invented the complexity of transportation. The cellphone, that has technically, exploded to a new leap. (Would any protesters, want to go back to the rotary phones again?) Some of the protesters do look like the caveman from Geico. It is annoying, when you see more of us texting or watching movies on their phones, when they are at the check-out line at a grocery store.

The ability to respect your surroundings, while protesting, seems like a logical thing to do. But it has not been that way so far. Although, the violence has gone down, the trash has been the issue, and in Denver, it has been a rather subdued event, with isolated legal incidents, like camping out in parks. And i must say the cooperation with law enforcement, has been surprisingly good.

This protest will either fade in the wind, or anger be build up to a frenzy riot. What will be accomplished, other then, the right for them to make a statement. We all know the union members, George Soros(the old crank from former communist Hungary, which he still embraces) and of course the MSM, endorsing the movement, when after-all,they bank their profits, from the very thing they protest on. Can any of these people see the hypocrisy they amount to? When the bell goes off at Wall Street or any business lane, it will go on as usual. The days remain the same, and the order of business will not be fazed. Now lets go eat and savor a day in our nice homes, and call a friend or family with our blackberries.

9/11 Tribute - circa 2004

This tribute was put together by a good friend, Dave Bailey. He did many audio cuts for my In America show back when I was on the Hernnet Radio Network. This is truly one of, if not the best audio cuts he has ever done. I have spent long nights listening to this over and over again and trying to fight back the tears. The voices are haunting and the track itself is equally moving.

I ask for everyone this weekend when they see a police officer, fire fighter or soldier and say thank you and shake their hand. If you can, please take a picture or video and send it to us at me@kriscardiff.com. Let them all know that we are thinking of their fallen brothers and sisters and that we will always support them and the USA. God bless America.

Obama's diverse government: For the sake of diversity

What ever happened to hiring the best and brightest? You know... you work hard, get good grades, and apply for that job knowing that the company would be stupid not to hire you. I guess those were the good old days, because talent, merit, and ability don't seem to matter. Just look at Barack Obama's new guidelines for hiring government workers, and you'll see that diversity trumps ability.

As noted in the Associated Press story on GOPUSA, Obama signed an executive order late last week "directing federal officials to design a government-wide strategy for making the federal workforce more diverse." Are you kidding me? America's economy is in the toilet; our schools (despite decades of liberal control) rank far behind other nations; and Obama's plan is to make the workplace more diverse.

The three-page order directs the head of the Office of Personnel Management, a deputy director at the Office of Management and Budget, the President's Management Council and the chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to develop the strategy within 90 days. Agencies then have 120 days to work the plan into their hiring and recruiting.

Who in the world deemed "diversity" to be some kind of virtue anyway? I mean... if you looked at resumes and interviewed people behind a screen so that you never saw the color of their skin, and if you hired based on their past experiences and how they presented themselves, wouldn't that be the most fair way of doing it? Wasn't the whole idea of a colorblind society to actually take race out of the equation? If you promote someone simply based on race, then by definition, you are holding someone back simply based on race. That is wrong!

The Washington Times has an excellent editorial about Obama's diversity mandate.

President Obama's new order instructs federal agencies to design new strategies for hiring, promoting and keeping workers of "diverse" backgrounds. The diversity the government is seeking is not diversity of ideas, outlooks or work experiences. In contemporary political parlance, "diversity" refers primarily to the color of one's skin and not the content of one's character. The executive order says the federal government "must create a culture that encourages collaboration, flexibility and fairness to enable individuals to participate to their full potential." In the name of "fairness," however, the government will intensify programs that discriminate against white Americans by extending special privileges to everyone else. The order also says that "attaining a diverse, qualified workforce is one of the cornerstones of the merit-based civil service," though merit and ability are not the metrics of choice when measuring success in diversity-driven career programs.

That last quote really has me scratching my head. A diverse workforce is the cornerstone of the merit-based civil service? How completely insane. The statement doesn't even make sense. If you want to hire based on merit, then take race OUT of the picture. Hire the best people. Period.

With the election of Barack Obama, the liberals were singing in the streets. They said he would be the first "post racial" president. (Whatever that means.) Actually, what they meant by that was that was America could now move beyond race. Ha! What a joke. That last thing liberals want is for America to move beyond race. But, as we can see... affirmative action is alive and well in the Obama administration. The U.S. Treasury will not default

I know this is long reading, but once again, politicians are at it again. They actually want to get elected, to verify the lying, corruptness, and snowballing of America. And the World, wants to look up at us, as far as, trust. We may know the intent of their actions, but what really goes behind closed doors?

Despite all the rhetoric and posturing we see in the media and in Washington D.C., it is safe to say categorically that the U.S. Treasury will not default on its debt after August 2nd, even if the debt ceiling is not raised. Not only will the Treasury be able to pay interest on U.S. debt obligations, but there is money for other essential programs as well. However, there will be some serious cutting that has to happen because spending clearly exceeds revenues.

I believe a debt ceiling limit extension will be enacted. However, let’s consider what might happen if the debt ceiling limit is not raised. Here in a Q&A format is what I believe you need to know at a basic level.

Q: What is a default?

A: In this case, a default would be the failure by the U.S. Treasury to make payments of principal or interest on its debt in a timely manner.

Q: In a given month how much does the Treasury owe as interest on its debt?

A: Roughly about $15–20 billion (more on this in a moment).

Q: How much revenue does the Treasury take in on average in a month?

A: Roughly about $200 billion.

Q: Are you saying the Treasury could pay interest on its debt 10 times over (or more) from monthly income?

A: Yes. Therefore the likelihood of not paying interest on its debt is zero.

Q: But, what about redeeming bonds that come due?

A: As bonds come due, the Treasury would again use monthly income to pay them off. This would lower the debt owed beneath the so-called debt ceiling. Then, the Treasury could turn around and issue debt in that amount up to the debt ceiling.

Q: Why then do Treasury Secretary Geithner and others in government make such apocalyptic statement about the horrors of default.

A: I’m afraid Secretary Geithner and others in government are doing the moral equivalent of yelling “Fire!” in a crowded theater and they are doing so for political reasons rather than financial reasons. They simply do not want any interruptions in the bloated spending underway in Washington and they want to scare Americans into thinking the end of the world is nigh unless the gravy train keeps chugging along.

Math is hard for politicians

Now, let’s do the math to flesh out some of these points. I know that for many politicians and pundits math is hard, but I’ll try to make it as simple as possible. If we do not raise the debt ceiling by August 2nd, we will not default on Treasury obligations. Nor, will we have trouble making Social Security payments. However, there would be a big drop — roughly 44% — in government spending because that percentage represents the difference between government revenues which would be about $200 billion for the full month of August and $172 billion for August if we start counting after the first week when the deadline hits. Spending is slated to be over $300 billion that month.

Here are the numbers from an excellent and highly detailed study by the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) quoted in this piece [emphasis added]:

…The BPC study found that the United States is likely to hit the debt limit sometime between August 2 and August 9. “It’s a 44 percent overnight cut in federal spending” if Congress hits the debt limit, [BPC's Jay] Powell said. The BPC study projects there will be $172 billion in federal revenues in August and $307 billion in authorized expenditures. That means there’s enough money to pay for, say, interest on the debt ($29 billion), Social Security ($49.2 billion), Medicare and Medicaid ($50 billion), active duty troop pay ($2.9 billion), veterans affairs programs ($2.9 billion).
That leaves you with about $39 billion to fund (or not fund) the following:
Defense vendors ($31.7 billion)
IRS refunds ($3.9 billion)
Food stamps and welfare ($9.3 billion)
Unemployment insurance benefits ($12.8 billion)
Department of Education ($20.2 billion)
Housing and Urban Development ($6.7 billion)
Other spending, such as Departments of Justice, Labor, Commerce, EPA, HHS ($73.6 billion)
The decision to prioritize payments would fall on the Treasury department, and Powell points out it would be chaotic picking and choosing who gets paid (in full or partially) and who doesn’t…

No doubt picking and choosing who gets paid and who doesn’t would be chaotic. And, lots of programs would not get their funding and that would lead to plenty of screaming. Nonetheless, it should be clear from this exactly how much we are spending in excess of government revenues. And, that could and should lead to a sober assessment of what government can and cannot do.

What about the bond market vigilantes

Earlier, I posted some of the thoughts of hedge fund manager Stanley Druckenmiller who discussed a potential Treasury bond default in a solid piece in the Wall Street Journal. With his experience in the bond market, Druckenmiller’s voice adds a dose of common sense and street smarts to the discussion of the U.S. government debt ceiling and what might happened if the ceiling does not get raised.

In the piece, he pours cold water on the fiery and apocalyptic language being used by Treasury Secretary Geithner, Fed Chairman Bernanke and many others [emphasis added]:

…One of the world’s most successful money managers, the lanky, sandy-haired Mr. Druckenmiller is so concerned about the government’s ability to pay for its future obligations that he’s willing to accept a temporary delay in the interest payments he’s owed on his U.S. Treasury bonds—if the result is a Washington deal to restrain runaway entitlement costs.
“I think technical default would be horrible,” he says from the 24th floor of his midtown Manhattan office, “but I don’t think it’s going to be the end of the world. It’s not going to be catastrophic. What’s going to be catastrophic is if we don’t solve the real problem,” meaning Washington’s spending addiction.

As he holds Treasuries himself, it is clear that Druckenmiller has his own money on the line.

I have pointed out before that Geithner makes the flying leap from a failure to increase the debt ceiling to actual default, that is non-payment of interest on the debt we already have. Even if the debt ceiling is not increased, the Treasury has plenty of funds to pay interest on existing debt.

The Wall Street Journal continues:

…It’s hard to think of someone with more expertise in the currency and government-debt markets, but Mr. Druckenmiller’s view on the debt limit bumps up against virtually the entire Wall Street-Washington financial establishment. A recent note on behalf of giant banks on the Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee warned of a “severe and long-lasting impact” if the debt limit is not raised immediately. The letter compared the resulting chaos to the failure of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and warned of a run on money-market funds. This week more than 60 trade associations, representing virtually all of American big business, forecast “a massive spike in borrowing costs.”
On Thursday Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke raised the specter of a market crisis similar to the one that followed the 2008 bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers. As usual, the most aggressive predictor of doom in the absence of increased government spending has been Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. In a May 2 letter to House Speaker John Boehner, Mr. Geithner warned of “a catastrophic economic impact” and said, “Default would cause a financial crisis potentially more severe than the crisis from which we are only now starting to recover.”

It should be no surprise that Geithner is peddling such nonsense and it should be no surprise that Wall Street firms and government dependent agencies such as Fannie Mae are trumpeting similar views. They don’t want the government gravy train to stop chugging along.

The WSJ continues:

…Mr. Druckenmiller is puzzled that so many financial commentators see the possible failure to raise the debt ceiling as more serious than the possibility that the government will accumulate too much debt. “I’m just flabbergasted that we’re getting all this commentary about catastrophic consequences, including from the chairman of the Federal Reserve, about this situation but none of these guys bothered to write letters or whatever about the real situation which is we’re piling up trillions of dollars of debt.”…

Good point. The debt ceiling is a technicality. The long-term issue is the size and scope of government and growing debt is just a symptom of that.

Update: On CNBC last week, Warren Buffett had a very good comment:

I could end the deficit in 5 minutes. You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP all sitting members of congress are ineligible for reelection.

Each President takes an oath to support and defend the Constitution, yet many have had no intention of doing so; rather they go about undermining that document and the Republic it formed.

Obama is using the destructive work done by his predecessors and accelerating the destruction at super-sonic speed.

It does not seem to matter if they are Republican or Democrat (although the Democrats seem to be more motivated), nearly all are weakening the Republic, ceding sovereignty, stealing personal freedoms and working toward a "new world order" in which the United States is a co-equal component of a world-wide government.

Many Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Congress critters, News critters, Wall Street tycoons, bankers, and many others of power and influence are members of an exclusive, elitist club called the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Similar organizations are the Bilderberg Group and the Trilateral Commission and many members of each are also members of the other groups. Each seems to be intent upon limiting United States power and sovereignty. The most influential seem too be the CFR and the Trilateral Commission.

Like me, have you ever wondered why, since WWII the United States has not fought to win any war. It's because all wars since WWII have been influenced by the secret agendas of these groups. They have used the Western powers as chess pieces to manipulate the world.

The key player in this diabolical scheme is the Federal Reserve Board, a semi-private banking organization who controls the nation's currency and economy and has the ability to create money out of thin air. They can print their own money and then lend it out to banks and the US government and collect interest on their own worthless paper. the Fed has systemically been robbing the nation of it's wealth for nearly a century.

The ultimate goal of this manipulation has been the establishment of a one-world government, controlled by an elitist cabal much as the Soviet Union was controlled by the Politburo.

That dream is finally within reach, but the big roadblock is the gorilla in the room, the United States, the last super power. Once it falls, the UN or some form of the UN can take over. The destruction of the US as a global power has been underway for decades, but the destruction has accelerated to warp speed in the past two years. The economic collapse and election of Obama was the trigger for an all-out assault which is underway now. The so-called economic stimulus, other forms of super waste going on are not meant to stimulate the economy, these actions are precisely intended to weaken the nation through unsustainable debt, create hyper-inflation to destabilize society and gain federal control of the population.

Much of the power behind Obama, who is orchestrating the final destruction of the United States as a world power is a billionaire named George Soros, a prominent member of the CFR and America hater extraordinaire.

Have our political elites gone mad? We'll have a special report. Blood ... Now, incredibly, a panel sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations wants the United States to focus not on the defense of our own borders, but rather create what effectively would be a common border that includes Mexico and Canada."

Christine Romans, CNN Correspondent (voice-over): On Capitol Hill, testimony calling for Americans to start thinking like citizens of North America and treat the U.S., Mexico and Canada like one big country.

For constitutionalists like myself, this is treason talk and Lou Dobbs should be thanked by the American people for exposing this evil plan. The fact that it is even being discussed in the U.S. Congress is putrid. The Council on Foreign Relations is an organization whose mission is to redefine American policy and slide this republic into a one-world government – a nightmare beyond what most Americans can't even imagine. Rear Adm. Chester Ward was a member of the CFR for 16 years and later warned the American people as to the true intentions of this treasonous operation:

The most powerful clique in these elitist groups have one objective in common – they want to bring about the surrender of the sovereignty of the national independence of the United States. A second clique of international members in the CFR comprises the Wall Street international bankers and their key agents. Primarily, they want the world-banking monopoly from whatever power ends up in the control of global government.

Former Congressman John R. Rarick warned:

The CFR, dedicated to one-world government, financed by a number of the largest tax-exempt foundations, and wielding such power and influence over our lives in the areas of finance, business, labor, military, education and mass communication media, should be familiar to every American concerned with good government and with preserving and defending the U.S. Constitution and our free-enterprise system. Yet, the nation's right to know machinery – the news media – usually so aggressive in exposures to inform our people, remain conspicuously silent when it comes to the CFR, its members and their activities.

The CFR is the establishment. Not only does it have influence and power in key decision-making positions at the highest levels of government to apply pressure from above, but it also finances and uses individuals and groups to bring pressure from below, to justify the high-level decisions for converting the United States from a sovereign constitutional republic into a servile member of a one-world dictatorship.

Who are some of the past and present members of this anti-American operation? Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, Donald Rumsfeld, Porter Goss, Alan Greenspan, John Bolton, Paul Wolfowitz, Gen. Richard B. Myers, Henry Hyde, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George Bush Sr., Sandra Day O'Connor, George Soros, Christopher Dodd, Diane Feinstein, Gerald Ford, Bill Frist, Newt Gingrich, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Katherine Harris, Teresa Heinz, Antonia Hernandez – President of Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Gen. John P. Jumper – current Air Force chief of staff, Joseph Lieberman, John McCain, Rupert Murdock, David Rockefeller, Diane Sawyer and Tony Snow.

Popular "conservative" radio talk-show hosts attack anyone who dares to suggest the provable agenda of organizations like the CFR or United Nations. Better to attack the messenger than the message. Most popular mouthpieces on radio or television today have never spent one minute doing the research I have over the past 15 years. Perhaps Dan Smoot, a former member of the FBI Headquarters staff in Washington, D.C., who specialized in this field was nothing more than a kook when he warned, "The ultimate aim of the CFR is to create a one-world socialist system and make the U.S. an official part of it." Before any American decides to poo-poo the CFR and their diabolical agenda, they might wish to read some of the writings by Barry Goldwater on this issue.

Our beloved republic is being wrested away from we the people by sitting presidents and Congresses since 1913. It is being done right out in the open, and yet, the American people don't seem to be taking their freedom or liberty seriously because they continue to vote back the same scoundrels, crooks, communists, socialists and sellouts into office. America is under attack by forces who wish to destroy this republic, our way of life, our independence, our lives, liberty and freedoms.

Before you can fight an enemy, you must know who your enemy is and the game-plan. If you play the game, the game will play you. I encourage every American to do the hard research and in November 2006 – clean out Congress, our state legislatures and any other elected office where the current incumbent is violating their oath of office and betraying our republic.

Man charged with welfare fraud

MENOMINEE COUNTY -- Louis Wayne Cuff, 33, of Menominee was arrested on Wednesday for possible welfare fraud after an investigation by authorities.

The joint investigation by the Menominee County Sheriff's Department and the State of Michigan Department of Human Services office of Inspector General was started when authorities received anonymous tips.

A local supermarket assisted in the investigation. Menominee County Sheriff Kenny Marks says that welfare abuse will not be tolerated in Menominee County.

"This case is not only about using tax dollars to buy steak and lobster," said Marks. "It is about illegally selling monthly allotments to persons who are not eligible for welfare benefits...for cash profit."

A receipt was recently posted on the TV6 & FOX UP Facebook page, detailing a food stamp purchase of several items. Although there is not necessarily a link between the receipt and this case, it does show that food stamps can be used to purchase a variety of items.

"The fraudulent sale of welfare benefits is an abomination and abuse of the welfare system, during a time when state and local governments are struggling to balance budgets," Sheriff Marks added.

Cuff was arrested and arraigned and was released on a $5,000 bond.

ATLANTA (AP) - The latest round in the fight over President Barack Obama's health care overhaul was held Wednesday in the federal appeals court in Atlanta.

A three-judge panel of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral arguments on whether to reverse a Florida judge's ruling that struck down the law. The judges seemed receptive to arguments from critics challenging the health reforms as unconstitutional during the three-hour hearing.

Some 26 states opposing the law and an alliance of small businesses argue that Congress didn't have the power to require virtually all Americans to maintain health insurance. The Justice Department says the legislative branch exercised its "quintessential" right.

A three-judge federal appeals court panel in Cincinnati heard arguments last week about whether the law's mandate to buy health insurance went beyond congressional authority, and a federal appeals court based in Richmond, Va. heard oral arguments May 10 in another legal challenge to the law.

Lawyers on both sides have said the cases ultimately will be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. But the appeal court panel's decision in Atlanta is being closely watched and could help shape the debate.

There's considerable legal firepower on both sides of the argument. Former U.S. Solicitor Paul Clement represents the challenging states and current U.S. Solicitor Neal Katyal will speak for the government.

It unfolded in what's considered one of the nation's most conservative appeals courts. But the randomly selected panel includes two appointees of Democratic President Bill Clinton, and observers say it's hard to predict how they'll decide. The Clinton appointees are circuit Judges Frank Hull and Stanley Marcus, while Chief Judge Joel Dubina was tapped by President George H.W. Bush.

Two similar lawsuits are pending in Virginia. Three federal judges, all Democratic appointees, have upheld the law. Two federal judges, both Republican appointees, have invalidated it.

At issue Wednesday is a ruling by U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson, a Republican-appointed judge in Florida. A crush of people gathered outside the 11th Circuit nearly three hours before the arguments were held to guarantee a spot, and the court opened an adjoining courtroom for the spillover crowd. Ed Schultz,(he used to be a conservative thinker, how he changed over, is beyond us) had said the cardinal sin, of calling Laura Ingraham, a right wing slut. I would imagine any women, would take that as, offensive. He did come forth and apologized, and Laura, the class woman that she is, accepted his apology. But not the first time, MSNBC had personal jabbings, from their panels. A professional, no matter what industry their from, handles, opinions, with controlled demeanor. Chris Mathews, is a vowed liberal, who has the belief in stating his opinions, the way he see's it. No hold barred, in his messages. It's one thing to disagree, on issues, it's another to name-call, in anyone that is disliked. How often, a progressive talk show, demands the message, that Republicans, are such mean people, that they would purposely, throw, young, old, disabled, people under the bus. The reality is, their own family, relatives, even friends, may have experiences, in medical setbacks, but deal with life's finest qualities. Being among people, in all walks of life, helps the diverse communities, reach out in common grounds.

In other bias news feeds, The Obama Administration, signed the extension of The Patriot Act. Some may not remember, the fuel of fire, the media poured on George Bush, when he signed it into law. This coming after the affects of 9/11. How it was intrusive, racial profiling it was, and the liberties were tampered. Now its not a big head-turner, since a Democrat, is in office. You realize, their may be some agreements, bi-partisan sessions, going on with this issue, and yet the credit is going to the Oval Office. If you have nothing to hide, the Patriot Act, is not overstepping, its keeping its format in place, to not be swayed, by enemy persuasion.

What will the media say about Hermain Cain? Now that he is running for president? A Black Republican, no less. We will see, and keep the rhetoric, in the left-wing playing field. It will be interesting, where the term "racist" goes to then. Stand by, for another episode, of "As the World Turns".

America: Justice for all

It has been a week since the capture of Bin Laden. The precision of duty from the Seals, has been masterful. It comes to the credit of the sitting President, to verify the strategy of the attack. However, the danger and risk, of our military, was set in tone. They don't think of the after effects, they do their job and duties, to protect and serve our country.

The shift from domestic issues and policies, is a back-burner, for now. The attention, is the Bin Laden saga. This is a victory, for all Americans, and the President, has shown the world, that America, is not to be dealt with, when the marbles are on table.

The joy and relief, where shown all over America. But little time after that, it became politicized. A debate, became a network to rather show pictures, of Bin Laden, after his killing. I have heard of conspiracy theories, of hiding further evidence, before the public acquirement. The questions were, why so fast of burying him at sea? why was there no pictures? because of possible imposters. And then there is the radicals, wacko's, who thought the killing was a matter of revolted vengeance. The Arab League, has some mixed sighs, but it is to soon, to tell what is in store.

I know, that extended security, is now in place, and may seem like liberties, are being somewhat halted, but the next chapter in the war on terroism, is remain to be seen.

The Americans, has and will, celebrate the act of will and determination. It is good that patriotism, is out in the open again. I hope it continues for a long period of time, or will it die out, and become a figment, or a device to use it as a "blame it on the west", like most left-wingers do? For now, we are united, for the good of the nation. And we must all, feel the importance, of liberty and justice for all

Mind the Slide

"Mind the slide" was my original title a few weeks ago when Barry took action against Libya. This is a very cautious time for the American people. It's the gray area. The time when the incumbant president is running for re-election and others are vying for the same event. I've come to terms with the current political situations and have come up with some interesting points:

#1: Barry is going to pull a "Clinton" at this point in time. He is going to rope and dope (for those that are not boxing fans - it means he is going to go this way and then the other way) to catch attention of a very important base in our country - the Independents. He is going to watch polls and succumb to whatever they say on those polls. Clinton did the same thing.

SIDE NOTE: CLINTON DID NOT REFORM WELFARE WILLINGLY...IT WAS NEWT GINGRICH AND THE REPUBLICAN CONGRESS THAT DRAGGED HIM KICKING AND SCREAMING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.

#2: Barry held the US military hostage. The US President had every control over the pay of US Military service men and women. During the "government shut down crisis" last week, Barry could have kept paying the military. He chose not to and held the military ransom.

#3: Barry wants to raise taxes on the "wealthy". Not sure about you folks but I've never had a job where I was paid by a poor man. And any free-thinking American would realize that less taxes equals more tax revenue. Unless you are getting a "free" paycheck from the government then you are the one that needs reformed.

And #3 leads me to a greater point about society. Why am I being punished because I don't have 15 kids. Sure that is an exageration but check the inner-cities these days where the Democrats have their boot heals pressed strongly on the necks of the African Americans. I don't care what race you are but you are being raped. Think about where you are right now...are you getting "yours"? Stupid. Make something of your life and raise your children well. The same people that give you that "free" check every month are the same ones that want to control you...and whether you know it or not...they already do. If they took that check away...well maybe you would get the point.

Planned Parenthood is a joke. It's murderous first of all....second of all it is racist. I hate using the racist word but it is. I think we are all equal. PP doesn't think so. That's why most of their facilities are in black neighborhoods. And just to kill the myth that women will die (according to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi), PP doesn't give mamograms - they tell you which hospital or clinic to go to so you can get one. Find it on your own.

Final point...I came across a friend of mine that I had not seen in quite some time last week. She said she was scared of what a government shut-down would do because she has a school aged child and because she works all day she would not have time to watch her during the day....

Chicago's most expensive county

I just got back from the friendly confines of Chicago. Little did i know, growing up there was nothing much. The expenses were not of any interest, the responsibilities were limited to going to school and working for awhile. And of course, costs of living were of no impact, to my life. Now as it stands, costs of living, food, and transportation, is out of control. Honestly, how can most people, afford to live there. Not that i want to give my hometown a bad image, but the truth hurts.

The toll roads should be the thing of the past, but they still exist. We have to dish out around 5 dollars, regardless if you are visiting. And it seems that the funds are not aiming to repair the roads. But i believe, the Democratic politicians, brace the money, into their own pockets. Such is the kind reputation, of caring for the average person. I never experienced such bad conditions,that they are.

Gas prices are over 4 dollars a gallon. I bet the Dems, are licking there chops, for the control of prices, is not about oil company gauging, but the profit sharing. Ever wonder why domestic drilling is not allowed, because the driving of costs, would be lower then now. The predicament of costs, is speculated for 6 dollars a gallon. You would think that would kill any politicians job. But the rising of doom, is becoming a reality. Who cares about the status of people? Who knows, but cook county politics, has not changed since i left there. I call it crook county. Next time anyone blames the republicans for looking out for the rich, tell them the Democrats keep the poor were they are, poor and penniless. Its hard to live happy, when you have no money to live on. A revolution may be in the works in Chicago's Cook County, the other counties, are doing fine with lower costs and expenses. I believe its the Big Bad Democrats and their mafia friend,s who control the prices. After all, the ghost of Al Capone, still is around. Or i believe it;s so.

my stand off with unions

The drama in Wisconsin escalates. The battle between union workers and budget balancing Governor, is of a classic proportion. The union protesters, have every right to display their voice. As of the non-unioners do, in a counter-acting response. The reality in budget short-falls, will hit them in the workers face. Emotions without rationale, is an oxy-moron.

The governor is asking,not forcing, workers to contribute to their pensions, and giving up their ability to negotiate the raising of wages. The State( and for most the nation) is facing a 3.6 billion dollar deficit. The way it's going under the same operating mode, it could surpass any hope to revive the crisis.

We all may lose pensions, if the carelessness, and indulgent spending, continues. According to the Americans for Tax Reform, the state and local pensions are underfunded, by 3.04 trillion dollars. The unions are acting like the bullies, who they despise, if challenged. The digging of their own grave is getting deeper. If the union bosses, are so compassionate, why they driving around in Mercedes-benz, Porsches, etc. And even the negotiating processes are a joke. I was a member(by force) of a grocers union, in a middle of a strike, and in many weeks ahead, came up with a meager, one dollar an hour raise. All the while, losing months of income, and anxiety raising the roof.

Do these protesters, care about balancing the budget? Care about the deficit, that causes irresponsible spending? When reality hits their face, they will realize that the Wisconsin Governor, is right after all. The tax-payers, pay for union benefits. The protest itself, in the state of Wisconsin, is a staggering 9 million dollars. The lost income each day, by the walking public workers, are being billed, to us tax-payers. The Democratic Party is the footstool to Unions and their members. But the Dems, run and hide to Illinois(another economic disaster). They don't want to confront the resisters, who may have a better solution, and may become angrier, as this drags on. So much for being public figures, and of service. Ever consider the volunteer firefighters, who do their jobs,without complaining? The fruits of their labor, are rewarded, not always by money, but by the spirit, and common dignity, that brings unity to all communities. That is what this Union, we call the United States of America, ought to be.

valentines for the military

Its already February, Valentines Day, And the hearts of our loved ones. Most of us celebrate Valentines Day, whether married or not, it springs up smiles, giving, and a sense of relational responsibility. But with the state of the country's security, We can at least give appreciation to the men and women who serve to keep us safe. And with Valentines Day and the hearts of the deceased loved ones be so close by, it is an honor to keep the military on our minds and heart.

The heart, is the symbol of love. Cupid's heart represents the color red, for angaging romance. And it varies to all ages. But the heart also represents the color purple, for bravery and discipline. The men and women who serves on the front line, know very well, their lives on the fringe. When giving the Purple Heart, many respond with audible appreciation. But their may also be some who don't give honor or respect, to the very ones, who keep them safe. Here is a thought of wisdom and appreciation.

Another year of liberal annoyance. Regulations on consumer products are at a breaking point. If you notice, Gas prices are climbing again. I know in the western region, we have been sustainably lucky. It has averaged better than most of the country. But now, i guess we must think that we had it made, too long. How many times has the topic of drilling off-shore, to offset the foreign price demands been discussed? OPEC, is projecting 100 dollars a barrel, in the coming year. Therefore, raising the consumer price to astronomical heights.

I bet the Environs, are gleefully clenching their fist, in triumphant. Speculations, are predicting as much as 5 dollars a gallon. Now rewind, at the time, Bush was in the white house. Attacks were waged at him, for declaring, he profits from Big Oil. But now it is a different story. A Democrat is in office, and the Mainstream news, has not set out to complain or make an issue about the gas prices.

A new Democrat "Green the Capital" program has its idiocy. The estimated 475, 000 dollar program, has only reduced the emissions, as equivalent to removing one car a year. A feel good intention by Pelosi, but what a duffus she must be. The additional energy was being used to pulping process for the breakdown of biodegradable materials, that requires more electricity. Also the plan has included in installing low-flow toilets in House office buildings,bringing organic foods in the House cafes, and they taste so bad. and enforcing recyclable utensils. Instead of silver ware, were it does not fill the waste bins, this sounds so idiotic, their gullible mindset is off the roof.

And one other stupid regulation, comes from san francisco.(And it wont stop there) The Kids meals at McDonalds, are disbarring the toys, because the "lack of nutrition" does not benefit the children. It's amazing how liberals, always watch out for the children, while at same time ruin the choices and fun that children need. A life, pertains choices, whether it benefits us or not. And those choices become lessons as we grow up. To take the lessons away, robs the character,rewards and legacies we cherish in.

the war on Christmas and such

Tis the season for gifts, get together's, but most of all, the celebration of Christ birthday. And most Americans, observe, and take in the recognition of Christmas. It has been a tradition for hundreds of years. It is a jolly time for children, who looks forward the festivities, in joining caroling, decorations, and the spirit of good deeds.

Once upon a time, comes the modern day version, of Scrooge. The Elites in Academia, the Government body, and the fringe dissenters, who want to ruin the spirit of Christmas. When ever a tree goes up in public squares, it must be called a "holiday tree". Yet, a Menorah is perfectly ok, to be recognized( i respect the jewish holiday and symbols, and their holidays are usually longer in season then christmas) for instance,Hanukkah, is well celebrated, and my jewish friends, also recognize Christmas, without any dissent, in fact, they embrace the joy and happiness, it forms.

Television stations, will rarely mention Christmas. (Exception of Fox News, that mentioned Luke in the Bible, the birth of Jesus, then wished a Merry Christmas) I remember about twenty years ago, the Christmas holiday, was publicly mentioned with glee. Now there is friction and obsessive animosity towards Christianity. I wonder what is next?. Easter, is on the hit list as well.

Where are the hearts of people, to disrupt or polarize the foundation of Christmas? Is the word Jesus, that much of a threat? Christianity, all over the world, is the target for dissembled persecution . The faith of christians, is mocked at, on comedy shows, talk shows, and news organizations. The few atheists that exist, are getting in the way of disassembling the recognition of christmas, by seducing the school systems, and media, to brainwashing them, about the separation of State and Church . If the parochial schools can no longer teach the values of religion, then we are invaluable to teach anything, except the State. It could very well be an Enemy of the Status Quo, and of the individual mentor.

If the worst thing that happens, is the offensive word of Christmas? Don't join in the celebration, and go on merrily way,. quietly. But to those humbug agnostics, don't ruin it for the majority of us. It is only once a year, the insensitivity, is out of hand.

I will say to my jewish friends, and who ever else, Have a Merry Christmas, and good tidings.

Life Lessons

I've decided to begin a series of posts on things I've learned in life thus far in my 33+ years on this Earth. I will continue this one as much as I can throughout my life. Please enjoy my observations:

LESSON ONE:

This is the most important lesson I can teach to any child. My father embeded this in my mush-filled skull years ago:

"Challenge your father all you want but Mom is off limits. You can say or do what you want to your father because he will most likely kick your a$$ but disrespect your Mother and things will be alot worse."

LESSON TWO:

If you are a teenager...your parents know exactly what you are up to. And if they don't, then you are doing the wrong thing.

LESSON THREE:

You will never have to pee as bad as you will when you are the "hider" in a game of "Hide 'n go Seek".

LESSON FOUR:

When you are running late and that traffic light turns red...guess what...that next one will too.

Britain: Welfare recipients must give something back

LONDON -- Britain announced the most radical overhaul in decades yesterday to its once-generous welfare system, pledging harsh penalties for those who refuse jobs and community work service for the unemployed in return for benefit checks.

Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith unveiled sharp changes to the country's cradle-to-grave social safety net, which was first introduced after World War II to better protect newborns, families, the jobless and the sick.

Critics have long said the British system offered hefty benefits unavailable to other citizens across Europe, the United States and other major economies -- encouraging some people to snub modest jobs in favor of an easy life on handouts.

"The message is clear. If you can work, then a life of benefits will no longer be an option," said Prime Minister David Cameron, whose government last month announced it would slash benefits payments by $29 billion under a four-year package of spending cuts worth $128 billion.

Under the new plan, many of the 5 million people who claim jobless benefits in Britain will be ordered to regularly do four weeks of unpaid community work to remain eligible for their $105 weekly welfare payment. The stints could include manual labor tasks like removing graffiti or gardening in public parks.

Unemployment claimants routinely also receive other welfare payments to help with housing costs and raising children.

The plan is the centerpiece of Cameron's legislative program, and one of the key elements of his strategy to fix so-called "Broken Britain," his election slogan for the social problems that he says have blighted the nation's prospects.

Duncan Smith said under his reforms, those who turn down job offers, fail to show up for job interviews or decline to take part in community projects face tough punishments. Benefits will stop for three months on a first offense, for six months for the second time and for three years after a third breach.

The system is still much more lenient than that in Spain, where a third offense means a person loses their welfare payments for good.

Duncan Smith insists the changes are not just to reduce the country's budget deficit but are meant to jolt a group of around 1.4 million Britons who have been without a job for about a decade.
